Hot Springs, Arkansas - The Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, recently awarded Maverick Transportation LLC at a banquet with the "Above and Beyond" award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

According to Don C. Morrow, ESGR Arkansas Chair, "The ESGR 'Above and Beyond' Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize American Employers who provide extraordinary patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation's call to serve. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's National Guard and Reserve units."

Maverick was recognized with two Patriot Awards in 2008 and has an active history of recruiting military personnel through specific campaigns and has a military/civilian ratio of 1 to 3. Maverick complies with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act Law (USERRA) and works with employees and their families around military requirements and active duty.
