Maverick Transportation announced Michael Massaro of Centralia, IL, as their Driver of the Month for September 2008. Massaro has been with Maverick for over 4 years and has spent a total of 8 years as a professional truck driver.

“Mike is a hard worker and always has a great attitude,” said Fleet Manager Dale Walters. “I never have to worry about him because he always gets the job done.”

Massaro has 4 safety awards for every year at Maverick, has been selected to compete in the Truck Rodeo for the past two years and was recognized as a Maroon Marauder (a special driver to driver recognition program) in March of ‘07. The ninth recipient of Driver of the Month honors for 2008, Massaro has proven himself a leader in the company’s fleet. His favorite thing about working at Maverick is the overall professionalism of the company. “They provide me with an opportunity to succeed. One’s hard work and dedication here at Maverick does not go unnoticed.”

Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company’s fleet who takes pride in his or her profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. Employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and the Driver of the Year is then announced at the end of 2008. As Driver of the Month, Massaro will also represent Maverick drivers on the prestigious Driver Advisory Council.
