Maverick Transportation announced Ben Eby of Caldwell, OH, as their Driver of the Month for August 2008. Eby has been with Maverick for over 13 years and has spent a total of 33 years as a professional truck driver.

“Ben has received numerous awards, is a former Truck Rodeo Grand Champion, and does all that is asked of him,” said Fleet Manager Jerry Thurow. “He will make a good addition to the Driver Council.”

Eby’s safety awards include a 5 Year Safety Ring, a 10 Year Safety Watch, and a Million Mile Safe Driving Award. The eighth recipient of Driver of the Month honors for 2008, Eby has proven himself a leader in the company’s fleet. His favorite things about working at Maverick are the stability, open door policy, pay, equipment, and the people.

Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company’s fleet who takes pride in his or her profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do. Employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and the Driver of the Year is then announced at the end of 2008. As Driver of the Month, Eby will also represent Maverick drivers on the prestigious Driver Advisory Council.
